We paint our faces like paper dolls Hiding behind a foolish mask An untrue reflection of who we are Is what we show to the world We paint our pastures with altered cows If we don't bulldoze them first Make way for more buildings Our improvements destroy nature to its core We paint our mistakes in another's blood Simply because we'll be forgiven It doesn't matter who or what we hurt Because we'll just repent We paint our world with a permanent mess Not caring about its pain How many times must we repeat each mistake Before our lessons are learned We seem to crave destruction Disguising it as new and improved But there are a growing number of us Committed to saving humanity Which of it will you be a part of? |
