They told me I couldn't survive
Said I wouldn't have the strength to thrive The waves came crashing down Water was thrashing all around The wind showed no mercy to the sea Lightning and its thundering boom surrounded me I pressed on awaiting my rainbow For little did they know While they tried to make me conform I've always forever been the storm. That peace they thought I should get Can only come after getting wet Being drenched in the storms of life And experiencing the lessons and strife Is the only way to get to that rainbow end I am the storm and I have no desire to mend

Poetry written by me July 10, 2020, inspired by Storm or Ororo Munroe character from Marvel Comics, whom I have identified with since I was a kid. This poem is meant to inspire others to embrace the storms of life because that is where the lessons and rainbows come from.
