Guest list comes before the wedding venue
You might really want a certain wedding venue for your dream wedding but stop your rushed booking if you still haven’t completed your guest list. You don’t want to face the problem of a venue being too small to hold everyone you plan to invite. Therefore, refrain from looking at any venue offers before you have a complete list. Once you know the number of guests, you’ll find it easier to look for a perfect venue.
Forget frugality with food and drinks
Organizing a budget-friendly wedding is possible and you can save some money on food and drinks as well, but this counts only for the choice of your refreshments. For example, you really don’t need lobsters or the most expensive champagne there is. Opting for low-cost but still tasty solutions is the proper way to save money. Under no circumstances should you try to cut on the amount of food and drinks that are going to be served on your wedding. You don’t want to experience the embarrassment of being unable to provide your guests with enough food and drinks during the reception.
Take time to get ready
Getting ready for your wedding day will definitely take more time than your regular preparations for going out. Therefore, make sure that you schedule all appointments at the nail salon or facial rejuvenation clinic at least one or two weeks before the wedding day and leave room to try your makeup on. That way, you’ll be more relaxed when the big day comes and you’ll have sufficient time to get ready stress-free. Remember, if you have to rush your makeup and hair, and especially if you want to do them yourself, you probably won’t be too happy with the result and you won’t find this time very enjoyable.
Order invitations and thank-you notes as soon as possible
Once you have your guest list completed, make sure to place an order for the invitations and thank-you notes so that you can start signing them and hand-writing them as soon as possible. Many people tend to forget the importance of this step, only to realize in what bind they’ve ended up in later on. Finding your perfect wedding stationery is a big part of wedding theme while hand-writing them and sending them requires some time. If you want to make sure that everyone gets their invitation in time and appropriately thank your guests for their gifts, don’t put off this task.
No non-wedding guests for the shower
Even though you feel happy and excited as your big day approaches, and want to shout how thrilled you are to everyone in the world, refrain from inviting people who are not included in your wedding guest list to the shower. This move is considered a very poor taste and you might come off as a greedy person who only cares about the number of gifts. It would be best to stick to your closest friends and family members when showers are concerned.
Be thorough with your organization and planning and you’ll avoid the uncomfortable situations that can arise from thoughtless mistakes. Before you announce your engagement and the date for a wedding day, or start looking for wedding services, make sure to have a long and detailed discussion with your future spouse regarding every aspect of the wedding.
