Here’s a quick look at what’s trending in Single Cards
#55 Garruk, Apex Predator - Continues to be a hot planeswalker and as his price continues to trend down due to his impending Standard rotation, he’s a solid pickup for casual formats and Commander. He’s a 7-drop, probably not going to see any Modern play, but his abilities are all very good.
#65 Bearer of the Heavens - The crazy blow up the world creature has been a casual favorite for some time now. This probably isn’t changing anytime soon.
#69 Dwynen, Gilt-Leaf Daen - The best Elf Lord (read: only) in Standard right now, and her having Reach is actually quite relevant. When you consider that Gnarlroot Trapper can give her deathtouch when she attacks, she gets even better. The lifegain she can provide is not irrelevant, either.
#82 Managorger Hydra - It’s very possible that Green/White Hardened Scales will become a thing, and this is a major part of that deck. He can grow very fast, and he’s a Trampler. Excellent card that will only get better with rotation.
#84 Chandra, Fire of Kaladesh - The more I see red mages toy around with her, the more I think she can work. If you can flip her into her planeswalker side, she’s definitely worth having around. Also, she’s actually becoming quite a popular Commander.
#95 Atarka, World Render - One of the best Dragons printed recently, Atarka’s double strike ability for all your attacking Dragons is simply awesome. Solid Commander and just a casual bomb. The Dragonlord version is better for Standard, though.
#97 Archlord of Depravity - I’ve always loved this card, and forcing your opponent down to two creatures at each of their end steps is absolutely brutal. Being relegated to the sideboard is a bummer for value, but that’s a great effect on a 5/4 flyer for only 5 mana with zero drawbacks for you.
Right now, I like all of the above as buys.
On the Decks & Sets side of things, not much has changed, especially in the miscategorized Single Cards. One thing I will point out is Mirko Vosk, Mind Drinker appearing on the Top 100. He’s a really solid mill card, especially in Commander. Another popular mill card, Mind Grind, is also now appearing on the list. Both are good pickups, especially at current prices.
For preconstructed & sealed products, From the Vault Angels preorders are in the middle of the pack right now. The set should end up being well worth the $80 asking price, especially with Avacyn, Angel of Hope and the other popular Angels collectively being worth more than that.
It will probably be a quiet time for now on Amazon, at least until we learn more about the next Duel Deck: Zendikar vs Eldrazi.
