Create a plan
First and foremost, you should create a workout plan and set goals that you wish to achieve. While just going to the gym may work for some women, the vast majority needs to create a workout schedule; especially if you haven’t trained in a while.
Creating a workout regimen will help you stay motivated, and think less about the whole process. For example, with a workout plan in place, you don’t have to think about what exercises you should do next, or when is your next training. Just check your calendar and hit the gym when you’re ready. Finally, if you are a gym newbie, don’t be afraid to ask for help. If any of your friends or family members is a fitness geek, ask them to help you create an exercise program.
Meal prep will help you stay healthy and fit
Food has always been an important part of the whole process. If you want to achieve better results and generally feel healthier, you will need to eat food that is healthy and fresh. However, being a busy woman means that you probably won’t have the time to prepare your own meals, or that is what they want you to believe.
Making a big meal will take you an hour or two, and most of us don’t have that much time to spend on cooking. But if you prep your meals in advance, you will not only eat healthy, but you will also save time on cooking. For example, each Sunday you can prepare meals for the five upcoming days. Of course, you don’t have to make the breakfast and dinner, just lunch, so that you don’t eat fast food while at work.
Have your gym bag with you all the time
Next, you should always have your gym equipment with you. We all have those days when we have to stay longer at work, which messes up our entire schedule. Most people hit the gym after they’re done with work, and driving back home just to get your gym bag is completely unnecessary. So, keep your gym stuff in the trunk of your car or in a locker in your gym, if it has one. This will save you a ton of time and you won’t have to worry whether you have forgotten your running shoes or not.
Work out before work
Even though most people exercise after work, you should really try to squeeze in a workout before it. Sure, that means you will have to get up an hour or two earlier, but in return, after you finish your work, you will be able to spend more time with your friends and family.
The best part, morning workouts will give you a boost of energy for the entire day. However, if you are just starting to exercise, you should stick to after work training. Many beginners are exhausted after a workout, and you don’t want to feel tired or sleepy at work.
Add variety to your workouts
Finally, don’t be afraid to mix it up. Many women stick to just a couple of exercises in the gym. While there is nothing intrinsically wrong with this approach, it can become boring quite quickly. So, make sure to get out of your comfort zone and add variety to your workouts.
For example, your next run doesn’t have to be on a treadmill, you can go for a run outside. Also, you can sign up for kickboxing, and throw punches and kicks for a couple of classes. After all, any exercise is a good exercise.
As you can see, it’s possible to train even if you have a ton on your plate every day. Sure, you will have to make a couple of sacrifices and it will take some getting used to. However, once you create a system, you won’t even notice the time you spend on your workouts.
