As someone who's never seen a single episode of the Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL anime, you may wonder why I felt compelled to draw Tori Meadows from that particular show. Well, I was a big fan of the Yu-Gi-Oh and Yu-Gi-Oh GX animes. I watched some of the card games on motorcycles, too, and it wasn't as bad as people make it out to be, especially the original Japanese version.
So it would make sense that I was interested in checking out the Yu-Gi-Oh Wikia when looking up info about a particular card. Featured on the front page was Tori Meadows from the then brand-new ZEXAL series. This was around the time that I was drawing any character at all that piqued my interest. Really, these sorts of drawings were only practice. But this one came out pretty well, so I went ahead and colored it in and everything.
I think what compelled me to draw Tori was the unusual hairstyle and honestly her color scheme of green hair and pink and white clothing. There wasn't really any other reason other than that she was practice for drawing my own characters. But it was an enjoyable piece to draw and share.
