Confessions Of A Bunny  Is A Fun Bedtime Story For Young Kids!

We read the paperback version of Confessions of a Bunny to our daughter, Nova Skye, who is currently almost 20 months (a little over a year and a half) old.  Learn how Confessions of a Bunny is a fun bedtime story for young kids!

What Does Our Active Toddler Think of Confessions of a Bunny?
Nova is a very active toddler, who hardly sits still. So it can be a challenge finding a bedtime story she will listen to. So, how did she do with Confessions of a Bunny being read to her?

Nova did better than usual, when taking a look at this book. She really enjoyed the colorful illustrations. Even though she can't read yet, we think it's great that she can turn the pages and enjoy the pictures. The book is a larger size, which is awesome for toddlers because they can more easily handle the book.
We think Nova enjoyed this book and the pictures (above) are indicative, as you can see! We love that the little girl in the book also has a prized possession. For Nova, it's her blankie. This makes it very relatable, as many young kids have an item like this.

What is Confessions of a Bunny About and What do We Think?

Confessions of a Bunny is about a stuffed bunny, her girl, and the adventures and love they share together. Many young kids should be able to relate to the story line, as well as enjoy the colorful illustrations.

The lesson of love that this book teaches is one all kids should learn. If your child is cuddly, like Nova is, it is highly recommended as a bedtime story. This is because of the cuddling a prized stuffed toy, like  the main character, Bun Bun can offer.

Our toddler really liked this book during nap time. After the story, she proceeded to cuddle with her blankie and fall fast asleep. Perfect!

The author, Melissa Jackson, did a great job creating a story that not only can be related to by kids of multiple ages, but also teaches an important lesson with fun imagery and words.

Our Recommended Age Range: 0 - 3rd Grade

Nova Likes Coloring With Mommy (Photos Included)

Cra-Z-Art
We've started homeschooling Nova using the unschooling method and it's working out nicely. One thing she has discovered that she likes recently is coloring.

Like most kids her age, she does try to eat the crayons more than she colors with them. But she's making great progress. We take time out just about every day to let her free color.

I usually color with her so that I can show her where the crayons should go (not in her mouth) and what happens when the crayons go on the paper (colors, of course).

She's very intrigued and excited about it. Her little scribbles are cute. Enjoy the gallery below of Nova coloring. As she progresses, we will start sharing her artwork. For now, she likes coloring with mommy (and needs to for the lessons), so most pages include coloring from both of us.

Nova really likes playing in containers of all kinds. Be it a cardboard box, a toy bin, a toy box, or anything else she can fit in (even barely), she will.

Her Grandma Rowell says she is being a cat. I agree. It's like I always say, "Kids Belong In Boxes". Enjoy these photos and videos of Nova's container fun. Don't mind the applesauce on her face in some of them. She wanted to play while enjoying a snack.

9 Month Old Baby Nova Dancing And Saying Milk (VIDEO)

Earlier today, Nova was having some milk and bananas. She likes us to sing everything and she dances most every time. She also dances to any music she likes. I caught  9 month old Nova on video (BELOW) dancing to the random milk song I was singing to her as she enjoyed her milk and bananas. She says "milk" near the end of the video. At 9 months old, she is a very smart baby, always dancing and saying too many words to keep up with. She likes copying just about everything everyone says if she can.

Nova has always been such a happy baby, with her endless smiles. Now that she has discovered HappyBABY organic baby foods, she can be even happier. When we don't make homemade baby food, we only use organic baby foods with pure ingredients, making HappyBABY the perfect choice for our family. Judging by the continued smiles, Nova agreees.

We got the first snow of the season in Aurora, Colorado today. Since Nova isn't even 6 months yet, this was her first time seeing snow. Check out the fun snow pictures! You can't see the flakes in all of the pictures but they were coming down good and she really loved it. She first looked out the window, then we brought her out into it with her snowsuit, and then we gave her a snowball to play with  for a few minutes inside the warm house. Sorry that I'm not in any of the photos but I was the picture-taker.

Cat In The Hat Style Fun With Nova Skye

Nova loves listening to Dr. Seuss books. So, it's only appropriate that she has a Cat in the Hat Dr. Seuss outfit, as well as Cat in the Hat pajamas. One day when we went to IKEA, she happened to have on said outfit and wanted to play in a tent that matched her stripes. She had so much fun! You can see her snoozing in her jammies from another long day, as well.

Nova Skye in Her Graco 4ever Car Seat!

11/9/2016

by Richard Rowell, Proud Father
Picture
While Nova's Graco 4ever Car Seat was quite expensive, it's been well worth the investment! That's the way I look at it. The way that most car seats are designed, you have to end up buying 4 or so seats when your child is little, including booster seats.

There are a lot of pieces to it when the kid is little, but as they get bigger, parts get adjusted and even come off. It really is working out quite well now that Nova's gotten bigger and it's the only seat she should need until she's ready to sit in a regular seat on her own.

Essentially, it was well worth what I dropped on it.
Sometimes you take pictures that are just too darn cute that you just feel like you have no choice but to post them. Here are some shots of Nova Skye in her Graco 4ever Car Seat.

Nova Skye's First Visit to IKEA

11/9/2016

Nova's first visit to IKEA was a fun one. She especially enjoyed the X's and O's toy that they put out there for kids to play with.
Picture
Picture
Here's a video of Nova playing with the spinning toy.
And like she usually does, Nova wanted to drive, too!
Picture
Picture
While we didn't get pictures or video of it, she also really enjoyed some of the vinyl play toys, like the circus tent, kid's caravan tent, and play tunnel.

Also, as a side note, this sign points out perhaps the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen...
Picture
As much as I love cinnamon buns, I don't think I needed to be told that this sign did not depict this yummy treat in actual size. Really, they had to say "Not actual size" for some reason. From a quick Yahoo search, it seems that they did this just as a joke, and that the cinnamon buns aren't even that good of quality. Still, it's funny.

While we didn't buy anything, we enjoyed our field trip nonetheless.

The Baby  Uses  More  Dishes  Than  We  Do!

Each time I wash the baby's bottles (about twice per day), sippy cups, spoons, and soon, it's a huge ordeal. Why? She uses more dishes than all of us put together!

Have you ever counted all of the tiny pieces that make up each bottle, sippy cup, formula dispenser, and more?

Please, don't. You'll never want to wash them again. Just kidding.

I actually enjoy washing all of her stuff and getting it prepared. But boy, is it a lot of stuff.

Each sippy cup has 6 pieces and she has several of those.
Each bottle has 5 pieces, not counting the other 3 pieces for each formula dispenser insert. She has 15 bottles.

Then, there are spoons, bowls, lids, teethers, and more!

There used to be lots of pacifiers too, but thankfully, she kicked that habit a bit ago.

Anyhow, whenever I hear people talking about prepping dishes to go in a dishwasher, I'm thinking to myself, wanna trade?

Each of the pieces to each of the baby's "dishes" needs to be hand washed and hand rinsed one at a time and many of them are tiny and have tools to reach specific nooks and crannies.
Picture
Image © Lyn Lomasi; All Rights Reserved
Is this a complaint? Heck no. Like I said, I enjoy getting her stuff ready for her. But it sure is a funny observation. Those extra pieces are actually necessary in order to make feeding time run smoothly. Tommee Tippee is one of my favorite brands to use because the bottles and sippee cups have interchangeable parts, such as the handles and covers. Also, the formula dispensers fit so snugly inside them for super quick prep when Nova gets hungry.

Babies sure use a TON of dishes. But it's well worth the sacrifice to have a happy, satisfied, and healthy baby.

Oh and a big shoutout to Munchkin for the awesome Munchkin bottle and nipple brushes, plus the High Capacity Drying Rack. There's no way I could properly wash and dry all of these pieces without them.

Nova's Loving This  Handmade Crocheted Dress

10/15/2016

by Lyn Lomasi, Write W.A.V.E. Media Staff
Picture
Our super close (yet so far away) friend Sandra Lynn loves crocheting and has made Nova some awesome stuff. This handmade crocheted dress is the latest of Nova's favorite items made by San.  She looks super cute in it and it's very comfy, by her reaction. It's also extra special because we actually got to pick it up in person on one of our BroncoBago adventures.

We put it on her and she got super happy and playful. We think it's partially due to the soft yarn, but also because she can probably feel the love in this quality handmade item.

You seriously should check out all of San's crocheted items. They aren't all for babies, by the way. But of course, Nova is partial to the baby stuff.
