We think Nova enjoyed this book and the pictures (above) are indicative, as you can see! We love that the little girl in the book also has a prized possession. For Nova, it's her blankie. This makes it very relatable, as many young kids have an item like this.

What is Confessions of a Bunny About and What do We Think?

Confessions of a Bunny is about a stuffed bunny, her girl, and the adventures and love they share together. Many young kids should be able to relate to the story line, as well as enjoy the colorful illustrations.

The lesson of love that this book teaches is one all kids should learn. If your child is cuddly, like Nova is, it is highly recommended as a bedtime story. This is because of the cuddling a prized stuffed toy, like  the main character, Bun Bun can offer.

Our toddler really liked this book during nap time. After the story, she proceeded to cuddle with her blankie and fall fast asleep. Perfect!

The author, Melissa Jackson, did a great job creating a story that not only can be related to by kids of multiple ages, but also teaches an important lesson with fun imagery and words.

We've started homeschooling Nova using the unschooling method and it's working out nicely. One thing she has discovered that she likes recently is coloring.

Like most kids her age, she does try to eat the crayons more than she colors with them. But she's making great progress. We take time out just about every day to let her free color.

I usually color with her so that I can show her where the crayons should go (not in her mouth) and what happens when the crayons go on the paper (colors, of course).

She's very intrigued and excited about it. Her little scribbles are cute. Enjoy the gallery below of Nova coloring. As she progresses, we will start sharing her artwork. For now, she likes coloring with mommy (and needs to for the lessons), so most pages include coloring from both of us.

Nova really likes playing in containers of all kinds. Be it a cardboard box, a toy bin, a toy box, or anything else she can fit in (even barely), she will.

Her Grandma Rowell says she is being a cat. I agree. It's like I always say, "Kids Belong In Boxes". Enjoy these photos and videos of Nova's container fun. Don't mind the applesauce on her face in some of them. She wanted to play while enjoying a snack.

Earlier today, Nova was having some milk and bananas. She likes us to sing everything and she dances most every time. She also dances to any music she likes. I caught  9 month old Nova on video (BELOW) dancing to the random milk song I was singing to her as she enjoyed her milk and bananas. She says "milk" near the end of the video. At 9 months old, she is a very smart baby, always dancing and saying too many words to keep up with. She likes copying just about everything everyone says if she can.

Nova Skye is learning to feed herself lately. Watch this cute baby video and take a look at the pictorial to see how she's doing. She's eating Beechnut organic Non-GMO certified apples and sweet potatoes that are lightly spiced with cinnamon.

 We got the first snow of the season in Aurora, Colorado today. Since Nova isn't even 6 months yet, this was her first time seeing snow. Check out the fun snow pictures! You can't see the flakes in all of the pictures but they were coming down good and she really loved it. She first looked out the window, then we brought her out into it with her snowsuit, and then we gave her a snowball to play with  for a few minutes inside the warm house. Sorry that I'm not in any of the photos but I was the picture-taker.

Nova loves listening to Dr. Seuss books. So, it's only appropriate that she has a Cat in the Hat Dr. Seuss outfit, as well as Cat in the Hat pajamas. One day when we went to IKEA, she happened to have on said outfit and wanted to play in a tent that matched her stripes. She had so much fun! You can see her snoozing in her jammies from another long day, as well.

 Nova's been perfecting the art of blowing spit bubbles for the past couple months. Here's some fun pictures of Nova Skye blowing spit bubbles.  Does your baby do this too? Share your stories and links in the comment section.

Is this a complaint? Heck no. Like I said, I enjoy getting her stuff ready for her. But it sure is a funny observation. Those extra pieces are actually necessary in order to make feeding time run smoothly. Tommee Tippee is one of my favorite brands to use because the bottles and sippee cups have interchangeable parts, such as the handles and covers. Also, the formula dispensers fit so snugly inside them for super quick prep when Nova gets hungry. 

Babies sure use a TON of dishes. But it's well worth the sacrifice to have a happy, satisfied, and healthy baby.

Oh and a big shoutout to Munchkin for the awesome Munchkin bottle and nipple brushes, plus the High Capacity Drying Rack. There's no way I could properly wash and dry all of these pieces without them.

Nova's getting so big! She got to play with her Nuby stacking cups today and she absolutely loves them! She played with them in her Graco SimpleSwitch Convertible High Chair.  The high chair is so comfy and the cups were so fun that she enjoyed them for quite a bit. The two videos below, as well as the pictures above depict how delighted and interested she was.

Nova really loves being in her Boppy Nursing Pillow. As pictured, it has a pink bird slipcover on it. Ever since we brought her home from the hospital, she has enjoyed sleeping, feeding, and lounging in it. I highly recommend it to anyone with a baby, as it's multi-functional, portable, and cozy. Enjoy these pictures of Nova enjoying her Boppy from newborn up to 4 months (her current age).

Nova really enjoy laughing with Nathan and has pretty much since day one. Enjoy these fun pictures and videos of brother and sister laughing away.

Nova got to play with a train set for the first time today. Aja and Nathan were playing and she wanted to join in, so we let her (with close supervision). See the photo gallery below to find out how much fun she had.

From her first day of birth, Nova has loved her Philips Avent Soothie pacifiers. But in the past few days, Nova has grown up enough to give it up on her own. The photo collage below shows her beautiful pacifier journey from beginning to end.

As you'll see, we have the Philips Avent Soothies in various colors, in teddy bear, and even with a giraffe attached (by WubbaNub, using a Soothie). Nova absolutely adored her pacifiers, but only that kind.

However, lately she has been teething, so we think it's  a combination of that and her growing up and doing more things that made her just give them up on her own. Thanks to the makers of the Soothies for the help with keeping her calm for her first 4 months of life. Now she's apparently ready for lots more adventures!

Nova made her first drawing today, at just 4 months old! Her big sister Aja was using the pencil and she grabbed it from her. So, Aja gave Nova a piece of paper and she went to town. We got part of it on video.  (VIDEO BELOW)

Normally, a pencil is not ideal for a baby, but it was a spur of the moment thing (educational moments should be seized, not taken away) and she was being watched very closely by several of us. When she gets a drawing utensil on purpose, it will be a crayon.

Three and a half month old baby Nova Skye laughs hysterically on video about her first time in a restaurant highchair. While you can't see them in the video, mom and dad were right there watching. It was mommy who took the video and both of them were talking to her.

Nova really enjoys her Evenflo Exersaucer. She plays in it just about every day. Here's some cute pictures of her playing in it outside at a campground in Strasburg, CO.

Nova turned 3 months old yesterday (9/2/2016)! Check out the fun photo gallery below, after reading about her amazing baby milestones at three months old.

Nova is getting so big and enjoying so much more. She finally got to test out her Evenflo Exersaucer that Grandma Rowell got for her and she absolutely loves it! Don't worry, she has all the signs of being ready to use it, such as being able to control her own head and pushing with her feet if in a standing position. There are more signs, but that should give you an idea. She was so funny playing with it. She got extremely excited and said hi to the teddy bear and monkeys several times. She does that to everything with a face, be it a toy or a person.

Speaking of signs, Nova had a well-baby checkup recently and guess what?! She's developing well and has met or exceeded every single milestone for her age. She weighed 9 lbs, 3 oz, as of 8/31/2016. That's up significantly from her birth weight of 5 lbs, 7.5 oz. She's also now 2o inches long! She was a little under 17 inches at birth.

Nova is playing a ton these days and is super active during the day. She plays with her feet, plays with any toys we put near her or hand to her, plays in the Exersaucer, laughs when people do silly things, requests specific toys with a distinct sound when she sees them, and so much more. Her favorites include a monkey teething blanket, the Exersaucer, a small Pokemon figurine that Nathan gave her, family members, cardboard tubes, her Summer Infant SuperSeat, an elephant wind chime my mom has (she likes to ring the bells with her feet), and a few more.

Nova's been doing so much lately that we can hardly keep up! Stay tuned for the next post. It's even easier if you hit the subscribe button on the right sidebar, so you don't miss a thing.

Baby Nova Skye always has such a cute natural mohawk. Rich and I love it and were both getting tired of our hair. Therefore, we decided to be different with our hairstyles in support of Nova.

As always, we were our own hairstylists. No salons are getting our money for something we can do ourselves.

Rich got a mohawk. My hair refuses to stay up in the air, no matter what we do, so no mohawk for me yet. But we did reshave the undercut even shorter than before, as well as trim some more off the top. I had to curl it under to make it stay up and the shorter pieces don't stay up unless I do that, hence no mohawk. Oh well.

Nova Skye is growing so fast! Here's a comparison of her in the same outfit while in her Boppy, both at 6 days and again at 3 months.

Ever since Nova got her Graco SnugRide Click Connect 30 Infant Car Seat, she likes to be in it a ton. That's a good thing since we're a  very active family. She's got the Zuba design, but it comes in many choices. Whether she rides it in our '77 Winnebago, our '97 Toyota 4Runner, or her Graco LiteRider Click Connect Stroller, Nova enjoys every moment in her car seat. Enjoy the photos posted below.

Sometimes Nova even wants to play in the car seat when we're not going anywhere. Thanks a bunch to Grandma Rowell for buying it for her. She also has a Graco 4Ever (which is super awesome), but the SnugRide is more portable, whereas the 4Ever generally stays put since it can't latch into the stroller. We use both though, depending on what's going on. The 4Ever can be used all the way throughout her childhood, as it converts into a forward-facing car seat, as well as a high back booster and a bigger child booster.

Nova Skye is being a kitty in these pictures! Nova's big sister, Tia got her this outfit for her baby shower and she is finally able to wear it. It also has pajamas with it but it was too hot for those when she wore it  yesterday. There's a cute kitty on the onesie and another kitty on the bib. The jammies are cheetah print, matching that part of the bib and the brown trim on the onesie. Meow!

Yesterday, we decided to buy some early Halloween decorations before the good stuff was gone. Nova apparently thought the skull ghoul was hilarious and wouldn't stop laughing at him. Thanks to big sister Aja for grabbing my phone and getting it on film. This is the first time Nova has laughed this hugely. She's done some smaller laughs here and there, but nothing like this.

Leave it to one of my kids to have a first laugh at something Halloween-related. It's my favorite holiday and around here we celebrate Halloween as whole-heartedly as some celebrate Christmas. Looks like she is fitting right in, as well as developing quite the personality. We did not expect that response from Nova when Aja took out the skull ghoul.
