It wouldn’t be fair to say that the past few days have been entirely uneventful, but there hasn’t been much to actually write about. Then again, there was the incredible ending to Super Bowl 49 last night.
It’s fair to say that after a great game, the Seahawks looked like they were about to win on one of the strangest catches the game of football has ever seen. All the Seahawks had to do was run Marshawn Lynch right up the middle and the game was over. Instead, they decided to run a pass play, and Patriots rookie defensive back Malcolm Butler became an unlikely hero.
Not to mention, even after the interception the Patriots couldn’t go into the “victory” formation to seal the deal. Downing the ball would’ve have put it in the endzone, rewarding the Seahawks with a safety, two points, and a free punt. Instead, when the Seahawks burned their final timeout, Seattle player Bruce Irvin instigated a fight. He did afterwards apologize for it, as obviously the Seahawks were extremely frustrated with what had just happened. But what it did was give the Patriots 15 free yards and a guaranteed victory. Say what you will, and I’m happy that the Patriots won, but the Seahawks very easily could have won that Super Bowl.
Katy’s half-time show was cute, too. I don’t want to know what they spent on that mechanical lion, but it looked awesome. The firework streamer thing that she was writing at the end was cool, too. Lenny Kravitz’s appearance was awesome, and Missy Elliott came out of nowhere. It was all really fast, but very entertaining. What else would you expect from a Katy half-time show?
So now we have all this snow to deal with again, and thus Lyn and I are back in 1186 at Beth Israel to make sure that I get my chemotherapy these next two days. This is week 7, meaning five straight days of Cisplatin and Etoposide, with a dash of Bleomycin one of these days. Probably, Lyn and I are only going to be here through tomorrow afternoon, depending on the weather. Then we should be back to the regular outpatient clinic.
I do have a roommate this time, so Lyn probably can’t stay in the room tonight, but by 9pm I’ll be ready for bed anyhow. Lunch just came, so that’s it for now. Be back as soon as possible with another update.
