Had to rush a bit this morning to get ready as today starts Round 2 of 4 for my chemotherapy. The taxi was a bit late, but that was due to someone that was supposed to be picked up not being ready. I wasn't happy how early we were supposed to be picked up - 6:16am. It ended up being closer to 6:30am. But now we know why. It's a 5-passenger van that Lyn and I were in today, and we had to go pick up someone in Stoughton, too. The traffic was also quite bad going into Boston. Good thing we took the back roads, through Roslindale and Jamaica Plain. We had to take some detours due to bad traffic, but we had a good driver today.
Ann, my nurse, says that we may be cutting things close by having the taxi come for 1pm. That may not be enough time for the chemo to be mixed and delivered and whatnot. I hope it is good enough, because I don't want day one of our taxi ride to end badly. We would have to be "rescued" and it could be hours before that happens. These weeks are going to suck. I may have to reschedule all of the taxi rides to pick us up even later than anticipated. Let's hope not. As it is Friday's appointment was pushed back to noon, so I already have to change that one. I'm still a bit nervous about the taxi service - more than a bit - because if you're not there by whatever time, you're SOL (sh*t-outta-luck). So I'm still a bit stressed out about that. I'm just glad that the first half of today did fine. I'm really worried about that pick-up. But I'll do what I can to just understand that the Monday-Friday run is often going to be an all-day thing. Mentally I'm still a bit disorganized, as that hospital visit last week really threw me for a loop.
I'm still really tired, but I'm running off of Lyn's wifi hotspot right now and I'm going to try and draft some stuff in order to post later. So wish me luck in getting some work done while we're waiting for the chemo to happen. Chances are I'll be too tired to do much this week, so why not get a headstart?
