So the day started off well. We got to the hospital around 8, for a 9 o'clock appointment. But I got right into what I like to call the "Chemo Express" at 8:30. This was great because no bed and a nice little alcove with a recliner and table. The Etoposide was ready almost right away and my nurse got me out of there at 1 o'clock. Of course, we still had to wait until 2 o'clock for the scheduled ride. IT was 2:30 and we were still waiting so I called the taxi company. Turns out the driver was there but at the other entrance waiting for two other people that never showed up. So we ended up taking off at 3 to pick up someone with her 5-year-old that had to go to Foxboro, which is a half-hour from Brockton. So we didn't get home until 4:30. The good news is that we aren't eating until 6:30. It wasn't the driver's fault at all. These taxi rides are just going to be like this. The poor drivers often know as much of what's going on as the clients do. They're doing their best. The parent company is just NOT good with communication, but the drivers are doing great so far covering for the clients, so I'm impressed at that part of it. Let's just hope that Friday's appointment that was moved later will work out. No choice but to wait and see how it goes. Tomorrow should be fine, but pray that Friday doesn't turn into a mess!
Take care all,
