However, it's also the case that vinyl records are hotter than ever. It's nice to see that many artists have embraced vinyl the way that many artists had no choice but to do so years ago. Many years ago, vinyl records were all you had. Then you had cassettes, eight-track tapes, and CD's. Now we're all the way back to vinyl. To be fair, nothing beats the sound of vinyl on the right sound system. But it's a lot of maintenance, keeping records clean and your turntable and needle in tip-top shape. MP3 players are just so much easier.
Honestly, if I had the space for a proper turntable and sound system and the budget to do so, I'd never stray from vinyl as long as I'm home. But for the road, I couldn't live without my MP3 collection.
